Adult Acting Classes
Whether you are a seasoned performer or someone who has never been on stage but has always longed for it, we welcome anyone and everyone. All we ask is that you come ready to grow and have lots of fun.
From March 13 through April 3, the Roxy is offering a four-week advanced improvisation class on Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm until 7:00pm, led by Brandon Meeks (Polixenes in THE WINTER’S TALE and Horatio in HAMLET).
We do it every day, and we talk about it all the time. We “ad lib,” “play it by ear,” and “make it up as we go along.” Improvisation is present in every aspect of our lives, from the practical to performative, but we are rarely ever presented the opportunity to practice this coveted skill. Through a smorgasbord of games, exercises, and hands-on application, this eight-week class series will introduce and explore the basic principles of the art of improvisation for the stage. Whether you are an experienced performer looking to bring more life to your craft, want to show more spontaneity in your everyday interactions, or just want to have some fun, this class has something for you. Don’t miss out!
The cost per class is $10, or $30 paid in advance for the entire four weeks. No experience is necessary.
Brandon Meeks is a professional actor with five years of experience in improvisational comedy. He has performed for a vast spectrum of demographics and age groups, and has taught workshops for both children and adults.
